The Brooklyn Navy Yard project produced interviews with over 40 people who worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during WWII. Sady also digitized interviews on cassettes that the Brooklyn Historical Society conducted with Navy Yard workers between 1987-1989.

Oral histories from this project were used by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Jennifer Egan, while conducting research for her novel, Manhattan Beach (2017). A reading guide providing context and connection to the oral history archives is available here.
